We’ve been spruiking how fantastic Brisbane is for a long time, so it was exciting to find out that it’s official now with Time Magazine naming Brisbane as one of the greatest places in the world. Brisbane is the only Australian city to make the list this year and is great company with places such as Dijon in France, St Moritz in Switzerland and Kyoto in Japan.
Brisbane was selected because of the depth of infrastructure projects that are underway in preparation for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics. Time Magazine highlighted Queen’s Wharf as a major reason for Brisbane’s selection into the ‘greatest places’ list. Queen’s Wharf is by far the most exciting development Brisbane has underway and is tipped to put our city on the map as a leading entertainment and leisure destination.
Connecting the CBD to South Bank, Queen’s Wharf will take up 1km of river frontage and transform Brisbane’s CBD. At a whopping $3.6 billion to develop, Queen’s Wharf will be the site for four new luxury hotels (offering 1000+ premium hotel rooms), including the Ritz Carlton, the Rosewood hotel, The Star Grand hotel and the Dorsett hotel. A total of 50 bars and restaurants, a new casino, 1,500 apartments and 12 football fields of public space will also be housed at this incredible riverfront site.
The World’s Spotlight is Firmly on Brisbane
Opening in November 2023, an iconic and world-class Sky Deck with a capacity for 1,500 people will be the centrepiece of the precinct. Situated 100 metres above street level and offering views and photo opportunities of the CBD through to Moreton Bay and Mt Cootha, the Sky Deck is set to become a top tourist attraction in its own right.
We can’t wait for Queen’s Wharf to be completed and know for sure it will become a favourite new hang out for locals to enjoy.
With the spotlight firmly on Brisbane there is even more reason for people to want to move to Brisbane. Population growth in Queensland is the strongest in Australia and with developments like Queen’s Wharf coming online and rave international reviews like the one from Time Magazine Brisbane property is predicted to become even more sought after.
