Best Time for Families to Move to Brisbane

If buying a home is on your agenda be aware the average home search, purchase and settlement typically follows a timeline in Brisbane as follows:

A home search and purchase in Brisbane – typically takes 3 to 6 months.

Property Settlement in Brisbane – is typically 30 days.

Ideally if you are wanting to be in Brisbane for the new school year, you should allow a minimum of 4 months for the property purchase process. Preferably you should start your new home search no later than September. This coincides with Spring – peak selling time in Brisbane.

Some suburbs have more property listings than others but overall supply in Brisbane is limited so starting your home search sooner rather than later is a hot tip. The last thing you want is to find yourself in a position where you haven’t found your perfect home and you are scrambling to find a rental for your family right on Christmas. From Christmas until the end of January the real estate industry comes to a stand still in Brisbane, so your best bet is to find a home is before Christmas.

Working with a local Buyer’s Agent can help streamline and speed up the property purchase process and is a service that is worth its weight in gold for interstate and overseas families wanting to move to Brisbane.
